The Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS) formerly chain of Central Schools is a system of central government schools in India that are authorized by the Ministry of Education (MoE), Government of India. The system was established on 15 December 1963 under the name ‘Central Schools’. Later the name was changed to Kendriya Vidyalaya. A uniform curriculum is followed by all Kendriya Vidyalayas all over India.
The Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan provides a common syllabus and It also provides a common system of education to the children of transferable Central Government employees including Defence and Para-Military personnel. These schools have been operational for more than 50 years.
